The Atomos Shinobi 7 RX HDMI/SDI HDR Monitor is the latest generation on-camera monitor designed to elevate video monitoring in film, broadcast, and vlogging productions. With a 7-inch HDR display and a calibrated peak brightness of 2200 nits, this device offers exceptional visibility even in bright outdoor environments, without the need for a hood. The 10-bit FRC IPS panel with 1920 x 1200 resolution ensures sharp images, accurate colors, and a wide viewing angle, making it ideal for directors, focus pullers, video switchers, or as a trusted monitor for presenters. Replacing the previous Shinobi 7 model, the RX introduces improvements to the hybrid workflow, with versatile connectivity and professional analysis tools for precise control over composition, focus, exposure and HDR.

At the heart of the Shinobi 7 RX is its HDR-calibrated screen, which supports a dynamic range of over 10 stops in real time from Log, PQ and HLG signals. This allows you to faithfully display high dynamic range material, simplifying the complexities of shooting in Log and HDR directly on set. AtomHDR technology automatically converts Log signals into an accurate HDR view, replicating post-production workflows for instant creative decisions. Additionally, the monitor includes a built-in 3D LUT box, allowing you to load up to eight custom LUTs via SD slot, which can be instantly selected to maintain creative intent. In selfie mode, the large display acts as a full-size monitor, allowing you to bake a LUT directly onto the incoming signal to achieve the look you want when you're ready to capture.

Connectivity is a strong point of the Atomos Shinobi 7 RX, with HDMI 2.0 inputs and outputs supporting signals up to 4Kp60 and 3G-SDI up to 2Kp60. HDMI-SDI cross-conversion and 4K to HD down-conversion eliminate the need for external converters, making it easy to integrate HDMI cameras into SDI workflows and vice versa. It also includes 8-channel 24-bit audio over SDI, with a 3.5mm headphone output for real-time audio monitoring. 5GHz Wi-Fi wireless connectivity allows you to receive signals from Atomos TX devices or H.264 RTSP streaming, expanding your options for remote or multi-camera productions. For camera control, the intuitive touchscreen offers quick access to critical settings like iris, white balance, shutter angle, and ND, with out-of-the-box support for the Z CAM E2 series via an optional USB-C to serial cable.

Under the hood, the Shinobi 7 RX runs AtomOS 10, a platform packed with analytics tools for professional monitoring. Includes focus peaking, 4:1 / 2:1 / 1:1 zoom, zebra, EL Zone/ARRI false color, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, histogram and a multi-scope 'Analysis' view for comprehensive evaluations. Frame guides, SMPTE safe zones and anamorphic desqueeze support precise composition, while support for various log formats – such as Sony SLog, Canon CLog, Arri Log, Panasonic Vlog and others – ensures compatibility with a wide range of cameras. The monitor is factory calibrated to Rec.709, with support for user calibration via free Atomos software and X-Rite i1DisplayPro/Plus, ensuring consistent color accuracy.

Designed for field use, the Atomos Shinobi 7 RX is lightweight and compact, weighing approximately 300g and measuring 183 x 113 x 19mm, ideal for mounting on a camera rig, gimbal, or tripod. Dual Sony L-Series battery slots maximize battery life, allowing for all-day shooting. The 6.2-16.8V DC lock input supports mains power or V-Lock batteries via the optional DC to DTAP cable, eliminating interruptions. Power consumption is efficient, peaking at 21W, and it includes USB-C and RJ45 ports for firmware updates and future expansion. The rugged construction withstands the rigors of on-set conditions, while the capacitive touchscreen offers one-touch operation for a smooth workflow.

The Atomos Shinobi 7 RX excels in hybrid applications, such as vlogging, where the large screen serves as a trusted monitor for in-camera presentations, or in broadcast production for preview and program display. Low latency in video output signals makes it perfect for live feeds, and the ability to display signals up to 4K DCI p60 makes it Suitable for cinema cameras like the RED KOMODO or Panasonic BGH1. With support for custom profiles and presets, the monitor adapts to specific workflows, loading .cube files via SD card for advanced customization. In short, the Shinobi 7 RX combines portability, power, and versatility for professionals who require reliable, high-quality monitoring in any environment.
